Worcester Wolves CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) set up in February 2011. The company is registered at Companies House (No. 07513193) and was created with the purpose of developing basketball through a number of initiatives within the local area and providing greater playing and learning opportunities for all.

The company's activities will provide benefit to all areas of the local community in the City of Worcester and the surrounding regions and in particular educational outlets and basketball clubs. These will include primary and secondary schools, academies, sixth form colleges and further education colleges as well as students at the University of Worcester. Anyone who attends any of these outlets within a twenty mile radius of Worcester will have basketball brought to them by the work of the Worcester Wolves CIC.

The existing basketball clubs in our area will also be direct beneficiaries as will wheelchair participants. The CIC encourages everybody to get involved in basketball regardless of ability, sex or age. We are looking to develop links and opportunities for those on low incomes and/or from an ethnic minority.

The Worcester Wolves CIC is run totally by volunteers on a not-for-profit basis and all members working with children will be DBS checked and where necessary qualified as per the sport's governing body's stringent regulations to which we strictly adhere.

About Worcester Wolves Basketball Academy

Worcester Wolves Basketball Academy was set up in February 2011 to promote and manage the junior section of the Worcester Wolves. In our first season we had one National League team, in 2018/19 we have 2 teams representing Worcester Wolves at U16 and U18 age groups in the Basketball England National League and an U11, U13, U15, U17 and a girls team playing in the Youth Basketball League and Central Venue Leagues.

U16 Boys – Midlands West | U18 Mens– South West

Our Cubs Team play local league basketball in Central Venue Leagues.

Home games take place at the University of Worcester on a Saturday afternoon and are often followed by the Worcester Wolves Men Division 3 or Wolves Ladies games. Entry is free to all Wolves Academy, Mens Div 3 and Ladies games.

The 2019/20 season will also hopefully see the return of the popular Worcester Wolves Central Venue League, games will be played on Friday nights at the University of Worcester. Final details will be confirmed shortly, as soon as the BBL fixtures have been announced (the CVL will not run on BBL nights). Following the exclusion of U12 basketball in National Leagues by Basketball England the CVL gives a great opportunity for younger teams to participate reguarly in competitive, well organised, basketball matches against local teams.

Worcester Wolves will have two wheelchair teams in 2019/20, the senior team will be participating in their third season in Division 3 whilst a newly formed junior team will participate in friendlies as they continue their preparations for national competition. They also have two womens team who will take part in the BWB Women's League weekends.

With 10 teams now training and playing regularly the Academy is always looking for companies that would like to get involved. For details of sponsorship packages starting at just £100 please contact Emma-Jane Gardner, ej@wolvesacademy.org or Jon Miller, jon.miller@wolvesacademy.org.
